Under Al Jalila Foundation’s The Hope Fund Khalaf Al Habtoor Expands Support for Dubai Hospital, Bringing Total Contributions to Kidney Care Services to Over AED 19 Million

Emirati businessman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founder and Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, visited Dubai Hospital, part of Dubai Health, where he toured the recently renovated Kidney Care Pavilion. The Pavilion was established under Al Jalila Foundation’s The Hope Fund initiative, with the support of the late Mohammed Khalifa Al Suwaidi’s Fund, managed by Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor. Al Jalila Foundation plays a vital role in enabling Dubai Health’s vision to advance health for humanity through the integration of Care, Learning, Discovery, and Giving.
Al Habtoor was accompanied during the visit by senior officials from Al Habtoor Group and was received by Dubai Health’s leadership, including His Excellency Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health and President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU); Dr. Abdulla Al Khayat, CEO Emeritus of Al Jalila Children’s Hospital; Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation; and Dr. Omar Al Marzouqi, Executive Director of Dubai Hospital; along with a number of Dubai Health officials.

This support forms part of Al Habtoor’s ongoing contributions to the healthcare sector. His total commitment to kidney care services at Dubai Hospital exceeds AED 19 million, reflecting a long standing and growing dedication to strengthening healthcare capabilities in the UAE.
This contribution includes more than AED 8 million allocated to the full renovation of the Kidney Care Department, in addition to a new pledge exceeding AED 9 million to support the expansion of the Kidney Care Pavilion. This new commitment will help complete and equip the ninth floor of Dubai Hospital to full operational capacity, alongside continued support for patient treatment through the funding of 4,000 dialysis sessions annually.

In 2025, these funds supported 2,179 dialysis sessions for eligible patients. Since the opening of the Kidney Care Pavilion on 8 April 2026, the facility has served 887 patients, demonstrating the direct impact of this contribution in ensuring continuity of treatment and easing the burden on patients and their families.

The upgraded Kidney Care Pavilion provides specialized nephrology and urology services, contributing to enhanced quality of care and expanded access to advanced healthcare services.
The initiative brings together healthcare infrastructure development through renovation and expansion with sustainable treatment funding, ensuring immediate care for patients while strengthening long-term healthcare system capacity.
The Kidney Care Pavilion at Dubai Hospital represents a model for specialized care facilities that deliver integrated services for kidney patients. It enhances the hospital’s capacity through modern medical equipment for dialysis services, as well as dedicated rooms for patient care and post session monitoring.

The Pavilion has been designed to provide a therapeutic environment that prioritizes comfort and privacy, while offering patients advanced care under the direct supervision of specialists. It also enables precise follow up after kidney transplant procedures, contributing to an improved patient experience across every stage of care.
