According to the World Health Organization, around 400,000 children and adolescents (from newborns to 19 years old) are diagnosed with cancer each year worldwide. For many families, the biggest challenges are limited access to care and the discontinuation of treatment. Hearing the words “your child has cancer” is one of the most devastating moments any family can face. It is a heartbreaking reality that no child should have to endure, and no family should have to face alone.
Every September, in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we invite you to stand with us by supporting the “Be the Superhero” fundraising campaign.
Through its patient support programs, Al Jalila Foundation helps ease the financial burden on families and enables young patients to continue their treatment without interruption. Since 2015, the Foundation has allocated AED 19.25 million toward cancer care for 297 children. In February 2026, it strengthened this commitment with the launch of The Cancer Fund, expanding access to timely treatment for cancer patients, including children.
