The Year of Courage, Hope and Resilience

December 2020
This year began with an unprecedented global health crisis, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which has affected every person around the world. 2020 has certainly tested us all as it brought our world to a complete standstill as we experienced movement restrictions, many lost their livelihoods and, sadly, some even their loved ones. And even so, despite the losses and the challenges we have faced, we have witnessed great learning, incredible innovation and, more than anything else, a united global front and togetherness to fight the virus

What will your legacy be?

29 September 2020
A few weeks ago I shared with you our new giving campaign ‘Bassmat Rashid Bin Saeed’ to support medical research. The campaign is very close to our hearts as it pays tribute to the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum ‘The Father of Dubai’ and one of the world’s greatest humanitarians renowned for his vision, leadership and compassion. Bassmat Rashid Bin Saeed recognises the generosity of donors for their investment in medical research to find the cures to the diseases affecting mankind.

When Science and Philanthropy Meet

Whilst a lot has changed in how we live, study and do business; what has not changed is our willingness, as a nation, to adapt and persevere in the face of adversity. We are more united and prepared to keep moving forward whilst maintaining all the precautionary measures to ensure the safety of staff, faculty, students and their families, co-workers and the wider community. 2020 has become the year of learning, growth and resilience and we are all in this together.
